On 11th September 2025, Pahlé India Foundation (PIF), through its Centre of Excellence – India Lead Elimination Action Partnership (I-LEAP), convened a landmark Round Table at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi with seven AIIMS institutions — Patna, Nagpur, Bibinagar, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, Jodhpur and Raipur — to address one of India’s most pressing yet under-recognized health challenges: the impact of blood lead levels on children’s cognitive and mental health.
The session brought together medical leaders, researchers and policymakers for an engaging, solutions-driven discussion. Participants shared field insights, examined operational challenges and explored harmonized approaches to strengthen surveillance, research and community awareness.
This collaborative effort represents a significant step forward in India’s fight against paediatric lead exposure, laying the foundation for a coordinated, evidence-based national framework to protect millions of children from the harmful effects of lead.
